Releases His Highly Anticipated Album HIPPOPOTAMUS!
(New York, NY) — September 15, 2025 — Singer, performance legend, and trailblazing fashion figure Kevin Aviance has lived a life that is a true work of art. His versatile discography pushes the limits of dance music, while on stage his deep voice and commanding presence radiate a unique, unmatched energy—glamorous, radical, confident, and androgynous. As a drag icon, LGBTQ+ activist, and pioneer who has survived many challenges, including a violent attack in his past, Kevin Aviance channels resilience, persistence, and courage into every performance, inspiring generations across queer culture and beyond.
Kevin will release his highly anticipated third studio album, HIPPOPOTAMUS!, on October 10, 2025—a bold new chapter in his legendary career, now experiencing powerful renewed momentum. Recently celebrated by global icons Beyoncé and Madonna, Kevin is receiving long-overdue recognition for his trailblazing artistry. Anticipation for the album is already soaring with the success of three breakout singles—“Beautiful,” “Bloodline,” and “Pulled”—which have generated major buzz ahead of the full release.
In 2023, Beyoncé spotlighted Kevin’s artistry by sampling his 1996 ballroom anthem “Cunty” on her Grammy-winning Renaissance album in the track “PURE/HONEY.” The collaboration reintroduced Kevin’s distinctive voice and creative vision to a new global audience. “Being a part of Beyoncé’s Renaissance was surreal,” Aviance reflects. “To have someone of her caliber validate my work in such a public way has been life-changing. It’s opened doors I never thought possible at this stage in my career.”
Soon after, Madonna invited Aviance to join her Celebration Tour as a special guest judge during the Vogue Challenge. These moments reaffirm Kevin’s enduring influence as an artist whose impact stretches far beyond music.
HIPPOPOTAMUS! represents a new era for Kevin Aviance. The album was produced, written, and arranged with longtime collaborator DJ Gomi, whose musical journey began at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he studied Music Synthesis, before moving to New York City and immersing himself in its legendary nightlife scene.

Kevin’s groundbreaking debut Box of Chocolates continues to ripple through culture, followed by his second album Entity, released in the wake of 9/11 and featuring the breakout single “Alive.” He later created his first mixtape Raw in Provincetown—a seamless, one-hour dance journey capturing the pulse of NYC nightlife. Aviance has released music on Nervous Records, Ultra, and Defected Records, most recently earning acclaim for “Get Off Your Phone.” He also joined forces with global superstar Honey Dijon on Classic Records, delivering two club anthems, “CUNTY” and “HONEY.” Following his celebrated collaboration with Beyoncé, Kevin returned to the studio to create HIPPOPOTAMUS!, cementing his place as a chart-topping global iconic legacy dance artist.
Kevin is also a sought-after international DJ, headlining Prides and major music festivals worldwide, where he’s continually rebooked for his ability to electrify dance floors with empowering, feel-good energy.
